Monthly Mug for golfers

This week’s competition at Karratha Golf Club was the Coates Hire Monthly Mug stroke event sponsored by Savannah Engineering.

70 Brave golfers turned up to play the Stroke event and test their skills against the strong winds which eventually died down late in the afternoon to the relief of all.

In the novelty prizes, the nearest to the pin on Hole 8 was Peter McIver and Laurel Chadwick on Hole 11.

Alan Carty was the nearest on Hole three and Steve Oliver on Hole 16.

Angie Rata had the Longest Putt on Hole 18 and Dave McLaren used the wind to his advantage & had a massive drive on Hole 17.

The best third Shot on Hole four went to Andrew “three Inches” Pilts, Hole six went to Bodie Broun.

Mike Hilsz took out Hole 12 and Martin Smith was the best on Hole 14.

Laurel Chadwick was the Best Lady overall and Ben Tawhiti was the Best Veteran.

The top golfer on the day was John Kuba with an outstanding gross 82, nett 66, second place went to Laurel Chadwick with a gross 89, nett 66, third place went to Shan Parmasian with a gross 98, nett 68 and fourth place went to Steve Oliver.

Well done to Ken Ottway who took out the highly contested NAGA prize!
