Not just another pretty face

“I really hope this isn’t a repeat of DJ Havana Brown where she just stood there and looked pretty,” community writer, Courtney Bertling said before entering the Karratha Tavern on Saturday, June 11.

“If she doesn’t mix the decks I’m not going to bother speaking to her.”

Then as Amanda aka DJ Miss Match entered the stage and threw down her first tune, Courtney’s jaws dropped.

Miss Match actually touched the decks and mixed like a DJ should!

From the moment Miss Match caught the audiences attention, they did not take their eyes off her until the very end screaming for more when the lights were turned on.

“You put the guys to shame,” were the first words Courtney said when she went up to the talented Sydney DJ.

“Well I try, I’m definitely not one of those girls that just stand there and are famous for their looks, I like to show people what I can do and how well I do it,” she replied still on a buzz for the performance.

“How awesome was that crowd, they were so out there, I give them a 15 out of 10 for their enthusiasm!” said Miss Match.

“Everyone is so friendly and welcoming here, as soon as I walked through the doors people were coming up to me asking how I am.”

Miss Match also got a request to join a local Port Hedland couple in America to DJ at their wedding and with the sound of screams the answer was yes.

One half of the couple Marla Froelich said Miss Match definitely knows how to work a crowd.

“She pays attention to how people react to different songs so she gets to know what people want to listen to more,” she said.

“My partner and I saw her at the Mardi Gras in Sydney a couple of years back and we loved her, that is why we travelled from Port Hedland tonight.”
