Kats leave Sharks behind in round nine

Round nine of the North Pilbara Football League was held over July 8 and 9 with the Karratha Kats defeating the Dampier Sharks 17.8(110) to 15.4(94) in League.

Smith kicked five goals and Walsh close with four for the Kats and Upton and Hamlett scoring three each for the Sharks.

Also in League, the South Hedland Swans defeated the Wickham Wolves by forfeit and the Karratha Falcons defeated the Port Hedland Rovers 18.7(115) to 9.9(63).

Smith kicked three goals for the Falcons and Sims also scored three goals for the Rovers.

In reserves, the Karratha Kats defeated the Dampier Sharks 12.21(93) to 3.0(18).

Simms kicked a huge six goals for the Kats and Bourke scored two for the Sharks.

Also the reserves, the South Hedland Swans defeated the Wickham Wolves by forfeit and the Karratha Falcons defeated the Port Hedland Rovers 7.13(55) to 7.5(47).

Third kicked three goals for the Falcons while Allen scored two for the Rovers.
