City centre works to start
The Karratha City Centre redevelopment project is set
to commence on June 14.
Downer Australia has been contracted to carry out the works.
The developer of the site has agreed to implement the provisions as outlined in the Department of Environment and Conservation’s “Guidelines for the Prevention of Dust and Smoke Pollution from Land Development Sites in Western Australia’.
Noise will be controlled as per the Code of Practice Managing Noise at workplaces 2002.
In order to minimize noise and disturbance, these activities are strictly controlled under a Dust, Noise and Vibration Management Plan approved by the Shire of Roebourne.
Some general features of the Dust and Noise Management Plan involve no work before 6.30am Monday to Saturday or 7.30am every second Sunday and public holidays.
There will be no delivery of materials (except concrete) before 7am Monday to Saturday or 8am Sunday and public holidays.
The Dust and Noise Management Plan also places restrictions on the activities of each trade between 6.30 and 7am Monday to Saturday and between 7.30 and 8am on Sunday and public holidays.
