Port Hedland loses a big hearted resident
Port Hedland is mourning the passing of respected community member “Big Brad” Anderson following his journey with cancer.
Mr Anderson was well known for his support of community events and ran his business “Big Brad’s Party Hire” with wife Leanne Anderson.
Messages of sadness, love and support filtered quickly through Facebook last Wednesday, the morning after his death in Perth.
Kelly Howlett wrote, “Thoughts, prayers and sending all the love & strength to my friend Leanne today.
“May you be surrounded by love at this difficult time.
“Thoughts, prayers and love always.
“RIP Big Brad.”
Lyn Buckley commented that his death was a terrible loss.
“You gave so much to this community Brad you are a truly special person,” she said.
Rotarian Donna Kingston-Lewis said, “Thanks for all your contribution to our community and Rotary.
“See you again one day,” whilst former Port Hedland policeman Richard Moore posted, “RIP Big Brad.
“Your support to Port Hedland Police and WA Police Legacy will not be forgotten.”
One of Brad’s final public appearances was as MC for last October’s National Breast Cancer Foundation pink ribbon breakfast in Port Hedland.
He looked resplendent in his pink suit alongside Leanne.
Prior to this, Mr Anderson won the opportunity to head to Papua New Guinea with Foxtel fishing hero Mark Berg.
Together they hit the open waters and Mr Anderson was part of filming for Mr Berg’s LifeStyle Channel fishing series “Mark Berg’s Fishing Addiction”.
