Andrew Forrest boosts Swans’ confidence coming into the finals

Fortescue Swans League coach Troy Ugle and the leadership team present Andrew Forrest with a framed jumper
Fortescue Metals Group (Fortescue) Chairman Andrew Forrest visited South Hedland on Monday, July 23 to meet the players and coaches of the Fortescue South Hedland Swans Football Club and provide words of encouragement to the teams leading up to the finals of the North Pilbara Football League.
During the visit, the Swans leadership group presented Mr Forrest with a framed Swans jumper in acknowledgement of the support Fortescue has given the Swans.
Mr Forrest said he was genuinely excited about the partnership that has been forged between Fortescue and the Swans and encouraged the team to continue to improve and build a winning culture.
In a ‘coach like’ on-field huddle the Swans players listened intently as Mr Forrest spoke about the importance of believing in yourself, playing for your mates and making sure that each game provided an opportunity to improve both individually and as a team.
Swans League coach Troy Ugle said it was fantastic to have Andrew Forrest address the players, and to provide some real insight into what it takes to build a successful team culture both on and off the field.
“It is not often that you have the opportunity for one of Australia’s most successful business leaders to come and talk to your team and provide them with great advice. We were ecstatic that Andrew was able to make time in his busy schedule to spend time with the Fortescue South Hedland Swans” Mr Ugle said.
Fortescue’s 5-year sponsorship of the South Hedland Swans Football Club includes operational support, mentoring and funding for the ongoing development of the club.
