The next ‘Cash for Trash’
Join in with the next Trash for Cash on August 18
The next Cash for Trash will be held on Saturday, August 18 between 9-11am at the following collection points:
Port Hedland Shopping Centre
South Hedland Shopping Centre
Shay Gap Park
South Hedland Landfill
Care For Hedland Environmental Association program coordinator Pip Short said that even if you have not assisted before, you are most welcome.
“It is a great social activity and even if you cannot help the whole time, any time that you can volunteer is greatly appreciated,” she said.
“If you can please let me know if you can assist, and at which collection point that would be greatly appreciated.”
The highly successful ‘Cash for Trash’ program promotes the recycling of glass bottles and aluminium cans for a small reimbursement.
Cash for Trash is a monthly event and requires volunteers to assist in counting of bottles and the smooth running of the operation.
