Movember is an annual, month-long celebration of the moustache, highlighting men’s health issues, specifically prostate cancer and depression in men.
Mo Bros, supported by their Mo Sistas, start Movember (November 1st) clean shaven and then have the remainder of the month to grow and groom their moustache.
During Movember, each Mo Bro effectively becomes a walking billboard for men’s health and, via their Mo, raises essential funds and awareness for Movember’s men’s health partners – The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and beyondblue – the national depression initiative.
Many Mo Bros all over the Pilbara started growing their Mo’s this week.
All the team at North West Communications (males only…. we think!) are growing a Mo this year.
Also local police officer, Chris Hinch, who always gives his time and energy up for a good cause has started growing his Mo.
This year the Pilbara Echo is going to follow the progress of these Mo Bros as they put down the razor for one month, and we want you and your wallets to support them.
For all those unaware here are the Movember rules
You know what they say, never sign anything you haven’t read, always eat your crusts and make sure you know the rules.
Just so everyones clear, on the first of November each Mo Bro started with a clean shaven face.
Then, for the entire month of Movember each Mo Bro must grow and groom a moustache according to the following rules.
There is to be no joining the Mo to the side burns – that’s a beard. There are no beards.
There is to be no joining of the handlebars on the chin – that’s a goatee.
A small complimentary growth under the bottom lip, aka a tickler, is allowed.
