The whole group of 60 students at Sam’s Island.

A group of student leaders and teachers from six local primary schools gathered at the Dampier Camp School last week for a leadership development camp.

Over the 2 day camp, the 60 students were involved in a range of team-building activities with a focus on the skills required to be an effective leader.
Mr Des Prizmic, camp school manager, facilitated a busy program that included school teams building and racing rafts, and a boat trip to explore Sam's Island.
A group of student councillors from Karratha Senior High School dropped in for a day, acting as mentors and sharing some of their leadership experiences.
Mr Nathan Baxter, high school chaplain and champion power-lifter, had all the students enthralled with his stories and words of wisdom one evening.
The students from Wickham, Karratha, Peg's Creek, Millars Well and Tambrey Primary Schools and Roebourne District High School said that some of the highlights of the camp were meeting students from other schools, going to Sam's Island and having lots of fun.
