 • Kath Ryan, Gary Donahue and Yvette Kely from Karratha Mental Health and Teeanne Brown and Rahnee Brown As part of the NAIDOC celebrations this week the Mawarnkarra Health Service Aboriginal Corporation (MHSAC) held a health service family day at the Roebourne Oval.
The event was held to raise awareness of the health service available and even offered free adult health check ups on the grounds in their own branded bus. The entertainment was provided by local band Cyril Munda and Family. For the children the Yaandina Family Centre provided face painting, whilst the PCYC organised a bouncy castle. The local fire brigade attended the event to join in the community events and meet the locals. Karratha based company Sodexo volunteered to provide a BBQ and the MHSAC provided a traditional kangaroo stew and bush tucker. The day also involved a football match which was The Roebourne Community Vs MHSAC which the MHSAC won.
The MHSAC would like to thank Sodexo, the Corrective Services Community, the Yaandina Family Centre and the Ngarluma and Yindjibarndi Foundation. Cyril Munda and Family entertaining the crowd |
